With the help of my parents, especially mom, I put my first uniform on and joined the Cub Scouts. Since then I have always served the community in a uniform, Webelo's, Boy Scouts, OA, USAF, EMS, Tactical EMS, and Aeromedicine. Today, serving the community through the American Legion and the Moose I have blessed to be able help communities during good and bad times. In my 38 plus years of serving Florida EMS I have never seen such vast positive changes in the way providers are perceived. It is no longer acceptable or even tolerated by medical communities for EMS systems to place too little focus on the expansion of services they provide. Those EMS providers who fail to increase their capabilities will find it difficult at best when it comes time for the consideration of who is provide their contracted services. And as time passes, the bar will only be raised higher and the EMS Vision 2050 will become reality."
